Samsung HMX-H205 unboxing and review - H203, H204, H200, HD Camcorder

!±8± Samsung HMX-H205 unboxing and review - H203, H204, H200, HD Camcorder

Available on Amazon amzn.to This is the HMX-H205 by Samsung. I'll be happy to answer any questions that I did not cover in the video. The HMX-H205 uses MP4 as its movie format. This video was recorded with the H205 that I had to return. I used SD 480/60p mode in "super fine" quality to record this. I had two defective camcorders before I got one that so far seems to be fine. Quality Control is suspect with these camcorders. I have many video samples from the H205 on YouTube. Visit MyChannel to see them all.

Mini Dv Camcorders

!±8± Mini Dv Camcorders

Mini Dv camcorders have many advantages over traditional analog video cameras and even Digital and Dvd camcorders. Mini Dv camcorders are compact, small and afford better editing. They have a better photo resolution compared to Digital Camcorders and even though they cost more, it comes as no surprise that many people prefer them over their more traditional counterparts.

Mini Dv camcorders are sold on many websites, electronics stores, through shopping magazines and niche magazines like the ones dedicated specially to white goods. These camcorders are sold by brand, zoom strength, Lcd display properties, price, and size, so it becomes easy selecting the one that best suits your needs.

The major brands of Mini Dv camcorders are Sony, Panasonic, and Canon. Sony is the store leader in the Mini Dv camcorder segment, while Canon, though a late entrant in the market, is fast catching up. Sony camcorders are popular owing to a wide variety and many innovative features, and they come with a uncostly price tag . The Sony Handy cam Dcr Hc 42, for example, is a Mini Dv digital camcorder with still recording as well as Mpeg movie recording features. This light, covenant camcorder delighted users with it's easy to use features and high sound and image recording capability on it's May 2005 commence into the Mini Dv camcorder market. other new highlight is the installation for low light and night time recording. And it has a lithium battery which lasts up to eight hours, far more than the batteries of it's nearest rivals Panasonic and Canon. The camcorder costs colse to 0.

Panasonic Mini Dv camcorders are the next popular after Sony Camcorders. The Pv-Gs 150 model, for example, comes with 3 Ccds, instead of one, as is the case with the Sony camcorders. You can select between internal or external microphone for sound recording. Canon's Zr 300 camcorder series has similar features, but it is ready with only one Ccd.

Mini DVD Camcorders

!±8± Mini DVD Camcorders

For years DV format and its corresponding camcorders ruled the market. However, in the recent years, there has been new development in audiovisual technology and today we find the popularity of another format growing by the day. This is the DVD format.

The DVD format has many advantages over the other formats. In terms of cost we find that because of its popularity, the DVD format ends up being extremely cost effective. Not only is the storage media extremely inexpensive and widely available, it is also very easy to transfer or store files in this format since the storage as well as the recording is totally digital. Then comes the ease of conversion. With the proliferation of computers, this becomes extremely easy too. All that one needs is a computer and the right software to edit, convert, copy or store a DVD media.

The format and the sector are growing rapidly and almost all players, beginning with Sony, Hitachi and Panasonic, have entered the market; each is rolling out more than one Mini DVD camcorder.

The most important difference between a Mini DVD format and a regular digital video is that Mini DVDs record video and image into a mini DVD disc, whereas others record into a DV Tape. There are a lot of inherent advantages to this. The first is that DVD discs are smaller and hence easier to store. They are also cheaper, more widely available and are a more robust medium for storing video. Besides there is no fear of the tape being eaten up like in a DV tape format.

Another advantage of a Mini DVD format is that the recorded disc is not sequential, unlike a DV tape. You can randomly access anything from any part of the DVD disc. Thus there is no question of wasting power and time on rewind and fast-forward. The clip one wants can directly be selected from the menu. Like the DV tape format, there are Mini DVD cameras evolving, which allow one to perform basic editing functions on the camera itself. Also one can just take a recently recorded Mini DVD and play it on almost any DVD player.

There is, however, one major disadvantage with the Mini DVD format. The video here is encoded in MPEG-2 formats. This means that one needs specialized software that can edit MPEG-2 format.

However, if there is no great need for editing, a Mini DVD would be the ideal format. It is believed be the format of the future.
